Stop the Rain
The rockers from Gravel Switch crank it up to deliver this ballad. This was the second song I had ever written which puts it over 20 years old. Written after a break-up, Gravel Switch breathes massive life into a song about heartbreak.
Mr. Grave Digger
The sound will put you in the Louisiana backwoods pleading with the title character to please stop his work.
Mr. Grave Digger is a tune derived from losing a loved one and begging for every moment you can hang on.
Savannah Dean Reeves breathes big life into a song about death and I really hope you enjoy it.
Black Horses
Ever been in a relationship with someone you knew wasn’t good for you and you knew they wouldn’t change for you but something just kept you there?
or perhaps you were that person.
The second single from the “Songwriter” album, it’s a song that’s been waiting to be released for many years and is finally getting its day. With a full production behind it and the absolutely amazing vocals of Justin Riley, Black Horses is not only here, but it’s making a statement.
DEAR SON
The debut release off my upcoming Songwriter album.
Dear Son was a late addition to the album courtesy of the birth of my first child…… a son.
The fantastic Rye Davis performs the song. He basically hoisted the lyrics upon his shoulders to create, what I think, is a solemn, heartfelt letter, guessing and hoping at all the things your son may or may not be, in a desperate attempt to grasp a future you cannot see.
Rye’s performance is so honest, we elected to keep it basic.
A man, a guitar, his thoughts to an infant son.
A huge thanks to my friends at Gem City Studios, Matt & Curtis, for breathing life into this song.
Simple. Elegant. True.
I hope you enjoy this first release as much as we enjoyed creating it.
